An intimate five-course private dining experience overlooking the autumn mountains in Cherry Log, Georgia.

There’s something especially romantic about autumn in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The colorful foliage, crisp mountain air, and golden evening light create a beautiful backdrop for celebrating life’s most meaningful moments.

For newlyweds Nicolette and Gavin, their honeymoon included an intimate dinner for two at their vacation cabin in Cherry Log, Georgia. With sweeping mountain views and a spectacular October sunset, the setting couldn’t have been more beautiful.

The couple chose our Private Dining Experience for Two, a five-course, chef-led fine dining experience designed specifically for couples celebrating honeymoons, anniversaries, romantic getaways, and other special occasions.

A Romantic Table with a Mountain View

One of the most memorable details of the evening was the setting itself.

The cabin’s spacious outdoor deck overlooked layers of forested mountains dressed in their autumn colors. As the sun began to disappear behind the ridgeline, the sky softened into shades of gold and blue.

Krista prepared a romantic table for two on the deck, incorporating soft, flowing linens, fresh flowers, and candlelight.

The natural beauty of the surroundings provided the perfect finishing touch. With the mountains stretching into the distance and the warm glow of candlelight across the table, everything came together beautifully for the newlyweds’ special evening.

A Custom Five-Course Honeymoon Menu

As with every Blue Ridge Cabin Cuisine private chef experience, Nicolette and Gavin’s menu was created specifically for them.

Chef George prepared each course fresh in the cabin’s kitchen, bringing together a combination of comforting seasonal flavors, elegant seafood, and classic fine-dining favorites.

First Course: Crab-Stuffed Portobello Mushroom with Lemon Rémoulade

The evening began with savory portobello mushrooms filled with crab stuffing, finished with a creamy lemon rémoulade and fresh herbs.

Second Course: Butternut Squash Bisque

A smooth, comforting butternut squash bisque brought a seasonal touch to the menu, perfectly suited to a cool October evening in the mountains.

Third Course: Prosciutto-Wrapped Melon

Sweet melon wrapped in delicate slices of prosciutto offered a refreshing combination of sweet and savory flavors before the main course.

Fourth Course: Surf & Turf

For the centerpiece of their honeymoon dinner, Chef George prepared filet mignon and lobster tails, accompanied by garlic mashed potatoes and roasted broccoli.

Fifth Course: Classic Cheesecake with Berry Compote

The evening concluded with a classic cheesecake topped with berry compote, a sweet finish to their five-course celebration.

Throughout dinner, Chef George personally presented each course, describing the dishes and making sure everything was prepared and served to the couple’s liking.

“My wife and I recently had a private dinner cooked and hosted by Chef George and Krista. The experience was exceptional. From the setting of the table to the final course, everything was perfect. Krista set the table beautifully before dinner and made sure the table was perfect, making sure we had what we needed throughout dinner. Chef George brought out each course, described the dish and made sure it was to our liking. The food was incredible! Every ingredient was fresh and the dishes were full of flavor! From the appetizer to desert, my wife and I loved every course he brought out. You can tell there is a great amount of care and attention he puts into his foods and we could not be happier with our experience. We highly recommend Chef George and Krista at Blue Ridge Cabin Cuisine for any private dining events!” —Gavin Ratermann

After dinner, the couple shared a wonderful five-star review of their experience.

His thoughtful words meant so much to both of us, especially knowing that we had been part of such an important celebration.
